Yvonne & Danielle's Pledge Page

In January 2003, we will be participating in the Disney Marathon. We decided to do this for several reasons, but the most important are Brandon and Kayla, our patient honoree's. Brandon is an active 8 year old who was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL) on April 16, 2002. He has successfully completed his treatments and continues to fight. Kayla turned 6 on September 7, 2002 and was diagnosed with ALL in September 2000. She is currently in remission and still taking treatments.

No, we are not crazy! We are members of a unique group called Team in Training for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society and they provide us with the training we need to complete the marathon. And, while we are challenging ourselves physically, this does not even begin to compare to the physical and emotional challenges Brandon and Kayla and their families must endure.

We have set two goals. First, to finish the marathon and Second, to raise $6000.
The funds are used to find a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and to improve the quality of life for patients and their families.

Also, we know first hand how the Society's events such as this can have positive affects on lives. We have a cousin who was diagnosed with ALL at the age of 3 and went into remission at age 5. We are happy to say Heather is now a beautiful young woman in her early 20's.

Although we are training to walk 26.2 miles, we need your sponsorship to reach our fundraising goals. You can do this several different ways...return your tax-deductilbe contribution with the contribution form or..you may want to take advantage of our unique offer of sponsorship signage or..you may want to become a Corporate Sponsor..See our donation page for more information.

We will keep you updated on our training progress and we ask you to keep Brandon, Kayla and our Team in Training in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you for your support and generosity.

Sincerely,
Yvonne and Danielle
